Prime members don’t have to wait until next month to shop October Prime Day (a.k.a Prime Big Deal Days). After confirming the official dates of the sale this morning — October 6 to 7 — Amazon dropped prices on dozens of products, and some are even at their lowest price ever, like the Garmin Vívoactive 6. We don’t know how long these early October Prime Day deals will last, however — popular products often sell out before the sale officially starts, so if something catches your eye, add it to your cart soon.

I’ve covered October Prime Day for years, so I know how to find deals that are actually worth buying. October Amazon Prime Day historically offers Prime members some of the lowest prices of the year on products across categories. These limited-time early deals give you the opportunity to shop when inventory is the highest, before the sale officially begins on October 6.

The best deals on October Prime Day usually center around Amazon-owned technology like Echo, Fire, Blink and Ring devices, small home and kitchen appliances, beauty products, household basics and groceries. Additionally, because this sale is in the fall, it unofficially kicks off the holiday shopping season, so brands discount popular gifts like gift cards and toys, as well as Advent calendars and themed decor. You’ll also be able to shop Amazon’s Lightning Deals during the event: They’re lucrative flash sales that give shoppers a short window to purchase limited quantities of specific products.

Products across all categories are generally cheaper on October Prime Day, with many brands discounting products by over 20 percent. Prices on tech, household essentials and groceries, small home and kitchen appliances, beauty products, giftable items and holiday decor tend to drop the most overall.

October Prime Day 2026 is from October 6 to 7. It starts at 12 a.m. PT on October 6 — that’s 3 a.m. ET, 2 a.m. CT and 1 a.m. MT. It ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on October 7 — that’s October 8 at 2:59 a.m. ET, 1:59 a.m. CT and 12:59 a.m. MT.

Yes, October Prime Day is actually worth it, so long as you shop strategically. The sale offers some of the lowest prices of the year on products across categories, giving you a chance to start shopping for holiday gifts, upgrade outdated or broken items and restock your favorite basics, like skin care, cleaning supplies and groceries. But ultimately, deals are only worth it if you actually need something, so plan your spending to prevent making impulse purchases.
