Live: Manu Bhaker in 10m air pistol action at 6.15am

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of India's campaign at the Asian Games for Wednesday, September 23.

News broke out from Nagoya a couple of days back that the rowing contingent had been turned on its head. The athletes, under condition of anonymity, told the press that they were being reshuffled from their favoured events, that they had trained for months in the build-up to the games.

The rowers were essentially in a battle with Rowing Federation of India president Balaji Maradapa, and if reports are correct, did not train much either.

They had threatened that if their places were switched, they would not participate in the Asian Games.

Well, the rowing event started today, and it seems that the reshuffled Indian athletes are taking part in their events today.

Balraj Panwar, who was due to take part in the men's quadruple sculls, took part in the singles sculls heat today.

Manu Bhaker and the Indian women's 10m air pistol team will be competing in the team final at 6:15am.

The team event will also work as the individual qualification. The top 8 shooters will qualify for the final. That event will take place at 9am IST.

India are competing in sepaktakraw, shooting, rowing, soft tennis, and table tennis in the morning, among other events.

Right now, the men's sepaktaraw team is playing Philippines in their group stage match. The Indian team were drawn in a tough group in the competition.

They have lost their first two matches against Japan and Malaysia.

It was a fulfilling day for India at the Asian Games yesterday.

The Indian women's team brought home the country's first gold medal in the campaign. And shortly after that the Indian men's badminton team secured a medal by beating hosts China in the quarter-final match.

The gold medal by the women's team hurled the Indian contingent in the top-10 in the medal table - for the first time in this Games.

One of India's two flagbearers in the opening ceremony, Manu Bhaker will be in action today. She has an illustrious CV in the 10m air pistol event, with multiple gold medals in the Asian Championships. The event also brought her a silver medal in the World Championships last year.

Manu is also a gold medal winner from the previous Asian Games, but that came in the 25m pistol event.
