Banks in Cuddalore district have disbursed loans to the tune of ₹584.67 crore to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the first quarter of 2026-27, achieving 37% of the annual target of ₹1,588.07 crore.

According to a press release, the district administration was taking steps to exceed the annual lending target. The first-quarter figures covered the period ended June 30, 2026.

The credit awareness camp for MSMEs aimed to facilitate access to credit for MSMEs and raise awareness of various self-employment schemes implemented by the State government.

Officials from the District Industries Centre, banks, TAHDCO, Mahalir Thittam and NABARD explained loan eligibility criteria, application procedures and documentation requirements to aspiring entrepreneurs at the camp.

Loan sanction orders for projects with a total value of ₹109.73 lakh were handed over to 51 beneficiaries under various self-employment schemes, the release said.
