Lucknow floods: Why city got flooded days after the rain stopped

Lucknow has faced flooding in several neighborhoods due to upstream rainfall runoff. Local rainfall alone is not responsible for the resulting waterlogging in the city. Officials indicate that the runoff from upstream catchments has taken about eight to ten days to reach Lucknow.
