A 26-year-old man died after being shot allegedly during a hunting trip near Hiremane in Koppa taluk, in Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka, on October 1 night.
The deceased has been identified as Chetan. He was part of a group of six persons who had gone hunting at night. After he was shot, his associates rushed him to a hospital at Jayapura, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Jayapura police have taken three members of the group into custody. Two others are absconding, police said.
