A man has died after being electrocuted while charging an autorickshaw battery at a garage in Dhaka’s Mugda.

The incident occurred in Maniknagar’s Aguner Goli around 11pm on Friday.

The victim, identified by his first name as Abdullah, 28, was taken unconscious to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead, according to Inspector Habibur Rahman, chief of the hospital police outpost.

Garage owner Abdul Gaffar said Abdullah was his son-in-law and worked there as a maintenance worker.

“He was accidentally electrocuted while charging an autorickshaw battery at night,” Gaffar said.

Abdullah was the son of Kofiluddin of Rupganj in Narayanganj. He lived with his wife and two daughters in Maniknagar.
