Man gets 20-year jail term under POCSO Act in Cuddalore

A special court for the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in Cuddalore, on Monday convicted and sentenced a 63-year-old man to 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl.

Special Court Judge G. Kulasekaran also imposed a fine of ₹15,000 on the accused person, K. Dakshinamoorthy of Bhuvanagiri.

According to the prosecution, the perpetrator sexually assaulted the victim in 2023. The Sethiyathoppu All Women Police registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested Dakshinamoorthy.
