Man offers 'rent garba partner' services for Navratri, packages start at Rs 1,000

A man from Gujarat found a rather creative way to solve one of Navratri’s biggest problems, not having a Garba partner. And no, he wasn’t asking people to find one for free.

Instagram user Krish Mistry shared a post announcing his rather unusual “Rent a Garba partner” gig, complete with three packages: Silver, Gold and Platinum, for those looking for some company on the dance floor.

The Silver package, priced at Rs 1,000, offered two hours of Garba, matching outfits, a tutorial on basic steps and, because no outing is complete without them, cute selfies.

The Gold package took things a step further at Rs 1,500. It included four hours of Garba, a made-up backstory about how the pair supposedly met and cute videos that could be posted on social media.

Then came the Platinum package for Rs 2,000, which seemed to include the full Garba-partner experience. It offered an entire day of Garba, a forehead kiss after the event, help with fixing a dupatta and jhumkas, and even a safe drop-off at the customer’s house.

Mistry captioned the post by inviting people to apply in the comments, turning what looked like a joke into a surprisingly detailed service menu.

The idea quickly caught the attention of Instagram users, with commenters treating the post as a new-age side hustle. Some joked that “Rent a Garba partner” was a new job unlocked, while others asked about applying for themselves and their friends.

Several users appeared genuinely interested too, with users saying they would sign up and asking Mistry to share the details.
