On a rainy day, a man enjoying the view from his balcony was left distressed after spotting two children in the building opposite his doing something far more dangerous than enjoying the drizzle. The children were seated on the window ledge of their ninth-floor apartment, dangling their hands outside the grille to catch raindrops.

Sharad Yadav, an X user, shared a video of the incident along with a detailed account of what he witnessed from his balcony.

In the video, the children could be seen sitting on the ledge behind a window grille. At one point, they appeared to step outside the window, resting their feet on the narrow board supporting the grille. They then leaned out and stretched their hands through the bars to catch the falling raindrops.

The children appeared to be enjoying the rain, but the dangerous manner in which they were seated on the window ledge was what caught his attention.

Fearing dire consequences, he eventually shouted at the children from his balcony, asking them to stop.

The children became frightened after hearing him and immediately moved back inside the room.

However, there was more to it. Sharad then explained that the children’s mother began confronting him for shouting at them.

Concluding his post, he wrote, "Now I just can't wrap my head around this: not only is she such a negligent mother, but she's coming over here to argue with me on top of it."

His post received mixed reactions, with several users supporting him and saying the children could have been seriously hurt if they lost their balance.

Several users pointed out that people often recognised the seriousness of a risky situation only after an accident has occurred, while many others said that Sharad Yadav had done the right thing by prioritising the children's safety.- EndsPublished By: Yashna TalwarPublished On: Sep 17, 2026 17:07 IST
