Kozhikode District Collector M.S. Madhavikutty will organise a ‘readers’ collective’ at Mananchira Ground in the city on Sunday (September 13).
According to official sources, the event will be held at 8 a.m. Anyone interested in reading can join the collective. The participants need to bring stories, poems, or novels of their choice and read them there. They can also air their views and listen to the words of others in a friendly atmosphere. Age is no bar.
The sources said that those who are in love with reading and those who wish to start the habit can reach the venue. The aim is to create a new experience of reading in a city that has hosted legendary writers such as Vaikom Mohammed Basheer, S.K. Pottekkat, and M.T. Vasudevan Nair, they added.
