The Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society and Shivamogga district administration jointly conducted an AIDS awareness marathon in Shivamogga on Friday.
The event was held with the objective of spreading awareness among the youth on HIV/AIDS. As many as 110 students from various colleges participated in the event. The winners won cash prizes as well. The winners in the boys’ category were Kiran K., Tejas D.G. and Nitish Kumar M - all are from of DVS College of Arts and Science.
In the girls’ category Srilakshmi S.M of NES Institute of Advanced Studies, Vela of Government First Grade College for Women, Deepthi C.S of NES - Institute of Advanced won the prizes.
Shivamogga District Government Employees’ Association president Mohan Kumar flagged off the marathon. District AIDS Prevention Society officer Kiran S.K, Taluk Health Officer Chandrashekhar and others were present.
