The incident took place at around 3 pm and briefly led to tension in the area. Police teams from the Charminar Zone reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and began an inquiry.

Charminar Zone DCP Khare Kiran said three residents of the apartment were detained in connection with the incident. They were identified as Mohammed Imran Qureshi, Arshiya Begum and Sabina.POLICE BEGIN PROBE

According to police, organisers of the Ganesh programme later submitted a petition seeking action over the incident. The complaint was taken up for inquiry and police are examining the circumstances in which the meat reached the area where the Ganesh-related programme was being held.

The DCP said appropriate legal action would be taken based on the complaint and findings of the preliminary inquiry.

The three people detained by police are likely to be produced before a court for remand as per the applicable legal procedure, officials said.

Police are also examining the circumstances inside the apartment and the sequence of events leading to the incident. Further action will be taken after the facts are established during the investigation.

The incident took place amid preparations for a Ganesh immersion programme in the area. Police said the situation remained peaceful after officers reached the spot and intervened.

DCP Khare Kiran said members of both communities were cooperating with the police and helping maintain law and order. Additional police personnel were deployed in the area as a precautionary measure.

The DCP urged people not to believe or circulate rumours or unverified information about the incident on social media.

Police warned that strict action would be taken against people who deliberately spread false information or attempt to create communal tension in connection with the incident.

Authorities have asked residents to rely only on information released through official channels and to cooperate with the police during the investigation.

The police said the inquiry is continuing and that any further legal action will be based on the evidence collected and the findings of the investigation. Officials also appealed to people in the area to maintain peace and allow the authorities to complete the probe.
