Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar has spoken out against the body-shaming of actor Katrina Kaif following social media commentary on her post-pregnancy appearance, urging people to value women beyond superficial aesthetic standards. The two actors previously shared screen space in the 2011 romantic comedy Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.Ali reacted to an internet user's misogynist remarks over Katrina's weight-gain post-pregnancy. Addressing the online trolling, Ali Zafar in a viral video reacted to the scrutiny faced by his former co-actor.He said, "A man was talking about my colleague—with whom I previously worked in Bollywood — expressing immense discomfort over how she used to look versus how she looks now. Especially speaking as a man, I believe we need to look inward and make some essential corrections within ourselves. What is important to recognise is that when it comes to the perception of a woman — her body, her way of thinking and living — if it does not fit the standards we have created, then...""This is wrong; this way of looking at things is not right. Every person is going through their own struggle, their own search. We have no idea what someone is enduring in their life. We should be nice to people, compassionate, understanding, accepting, appreciative, and positive. But we should not be doing this. Every woman has a life of her own. Whatever search or struggle she is going through, whatever her past was, whatever her present and future are — that is her life. Let her live, why do you care? It is her life," he added.Earlier, actor Shivaleeka Oberoi, known for her role in Khuda Haafiz, came out in support of Katrina Kaif after the actor faced body-shaming and harsh comments online over her recent public appearance.Shivaleeka shared a post featuring Katrina and questioned the criticism surrounding her post-pregnancy appearance. “Kya ho gaya hai (What happened) means?! This is Motherhood!” she wrote.
Comments from Ali Zafar and actor Shivaleeka Oberoi followed a wave of online criticism targeting Katrina Kaif over her appearance at filmmaker Kuku Kohli’s prayer meet, where she was accompanied by her husband, actor Vicky Kaushal. The event marked one of Katrina’s rare public appearances in recent months.
The actor, who welcomed her first child, son Vihaan Kaushal, with husband Vicky Kaushal in November 2025, has largely stayed away from the spotlight since embracing motherhood.
