Messages Point to Close Relationship Between Brazil's Senate President and Imprisoned Former Banker - Folha de S.Paulo

Messages extracted by the Federal Police and revealed by Veja magazine, with their contents confirmed by Folha, show a friendship between Senate President Davi Alcolumbre and Banco Master owner Daniel Vorcaro, who is in custody.

In February 2025, when Alcolumbre was elected to lead the Senate, Vorcaro congratulated the senator, who replied: "Hey, my love! Thank you so much for everything, especially for your affection and brotherly friendship! Grateful!"

Alcolumbre also calls the banker a "brother for life," receiving similar declarations in response.

The messages also show the senator asking Vorcaro to find out the source of a female journalist, as well as conversations between the banker and former minister Fábio Faria about hiring women for an event in London, with mention of an agreement that only Supreme Federal Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes would know what had happened.

Chamber of Deputies President Hugo Motta also appears in the conversations.

Alcolumbre called the information "false accusations," said the messages were personal in nature and did not indicate any wrongdoing, and said he would take legal action against Veja.

Fábio Faria denied any connection between the conversation about London and the senator. Motta’s press office did not respond to the newspaper’s request for comment.
