Michael V. teases relatable new parody song on 'Bubble Gang' - GMA Network
Filipinos may soon have another song stuck in their heads as Michael V. returns with a new parody that tackles the realities many Filipinos can relate to.
According to Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras” on Friday, Michael V. personally wrote the lyrics for his latest parody, which will air on “Bubble Gang” this Sunday.
Bitoy said the song reflects the current situation of many people who often feel that something is lacking.
“I’m Juan Dela Cruz. I will serve as the voice of Filipinos today. It’s about the situation of Filipinos today. It’s always lacking… You know you’ll be able to relate to this,” Michael V. said in Filipino.
The parody is based on “Ikaw Lang” by the band Nobita, with Michael V.’s version titled “Eh Kulang.”
The song will be performed by his parody band Nokita.
“Their song is great, the melody is very catchy. Our band's name is Nokita. So if you put it all together—Eh Kulang, Nokita, Pilipino, Juan de la Cruz—you get the picture,” Bitoy shared.
Michael V. acknowledged that some viewers may feel called out by the parody, but reminded them not to take it too seriously.
“Not those who will be hit by it. But you can’t get offended because this is just a parody,” he said.
Meanwhile, another thing to look forward to from Michael V. is his temporary hosting stint on “Family Feud" while Dingdong Dantes takes a break to focus on his series, "The Master Cutter."
“I enjoyed it. I always think about it. I also always imagine that it must be fun to host that show. Especially because of your interaction with the contestants and with the audience,” he said.
“So I'm sure Dindong misses his colleagues there and also the live audience. The energy is amazing.”
The Kapuso Comedy Genius is known for his viral parodies of hit OPM songs such as “Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw,” “Sining” by Dionela feat. Jay-R, “Dilaw" by Maki, and “Raining in Manila” by Lola Amour.
