Mighty Hoopla has unveiled a spectacular lineup for 2027 as the festival gets ready to celebrate its 10th birthday.

Organisers have announced that Swedish pop icon Robyn and chart-topping pop group the Pussycat Dolls will headline the two-day event, which takes place next year on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 June.

They will be joined by “Milkshake” star Kelis, US pop singer Bebe Rexha, girl group FLO, UK pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Nicola Roberts and many more.

Robyn is headlining the Saturday of the festival, bringing anthems like “Dancing on My Own” and “Honey” to thousands of fans, while the Pussycat Dolls, who embarked on a reunion tour earlier this year, will deliver hits such as “Don’t Cha” and “Buttons”.

Leading the celebrations on Saturday will be global pop superstar Robyn, bringing her iconic catalogue of dancefloor anthems to Brockwell Park. Sunday will welcome international pop royalty Pussycat Dolls, delivering a hit-packed headline performance.

Robyn’s set comes after she released her latest album, Sexistential, to critical acclaim.

“Her first album since 2018’s Honey... Sexistential sees the Swedish pop innovator take charge over nine expertly produced tracks, exploring matters of sexuality, relationships and desire with playful candour,” The Independent’s review said.

“It’s brilliant, too; Robyn’s voice is commanding but also curious, enveloped by tremendous salvos of house and electronic sounds. Written in the aftermath of a long-term relationship and while she was going through IVF, it is striking in its direct approach – a sharp contrast to the liquid sensuality and murky emotions of Honey.”

Since launching in 2017, Mighty Hoopla has grown into one of the UK’s most loved music events, combining its celebrations of queer joy, freedom and expression with a non-cynical approach to pop.

Co-founder Glyn Fussell said: “These past 10 years have been the biggest privilege of my life. In a world that can often feel hostile and scary, we have created a celebration of life at its most joyful at Hoopla.

“It blows my mind daily, and I take protecting it in all its glorious technicolour more seriously than anything. If I could look back at that young, queer, pop-obsessed kid and tell them this would be possible, I wouldn't have believed it. That is why we won't stop creating this beautiful space for you all to come and play.”

He added to The Independent: “Hoopla has always been a weekend of pure pop escapism and for our 10-year anniversary we have more jaw dropping surprises than ever before! It’s our love letter to the people that have been with us through the last decade.”

Co-founder Jamie Tagg said: “It's wild to think that 10 years ago we couldn't even get a bank loan because no one thought the festival was a good idea. Now we have some of the biggest names in music wanting to perform on our stages. Having Robyn and The Pussycat Dolls headline is a real pinch-me moment and a genuine honour for us. June can't come soon enough.”

Tagg told The Independent: “These past 10 years would not have be possible without the love we have felt from both our audience and our partners at Lambeth. We are incredibly luckily to have had that support in the row front and behind the scenes for the best part of a decade.”

Also returning next year will be The Bump, the festival’s dance arena, along with Queertopia, its stage dedicated to platforming the next generation of LGBT+ talent, from Tom Rasmussen to Empress Of.

Tickets for next year’s festival go on sale on Tuesday 3 November at 10am.

Further acts for the 2027 lineup will be revealed at a later date, as preparations for Mighty Hoopla’s 10th birthday continue.

This year’s sold-out event took place in its traditional stomping ground of Brockwell Park, London, with headliners Lily Allen and Scissor Sisters wowing the crowds.

In a five-star review, The Independent praised Allen’s performance of her critically adored album West End Girl, as well as sets from pop duo Appleton, JLS, MEEK, Delta Goodrem and MNEK.

“The West End Girl tour has received mixed reviews from critics, which is all the more baffling now, seeing the show unfold in real time,” the review said. “Allen’s lyrics are excoriating – about herself, her ex and his other lovers – while never shying away from her feelings of inadequacy, shame, helplessness, heartbreak, rage or pity.

“She wanders the stage as if it’s her own apartment, dazed as she discovers the stash of sex toys in “Pussy Palace”, then needy as fellow pop star JADE joins her for the recently released remix of “Beg for Me”. It’s the perfect headline set, offering clarity and catharsis before revellers drift off into the night.”
