Mild tremors in A.P.’s Adoni town; no damage reported

Mild tremors were reported in Adoni town and surrounding localities in Kurnool district late Thursday evening, forcing residents out of their homes for a brief period.

Residents informed officials that tremors were felt around 8:00 p.m. and lasted for a few seconds. Though no structural damage was reported, residents said that household items experienced a mild rattle, while furniture shook in some localities, including 3-Roads Junction.

A revenue official stated that, according to a preliminary assessment, the phenomenon was suggestive of a low-intensity tremor due to minor subsurface movement, and detailed information was awaited from the seismological agencies. District officials urged the public not to panic.
