Minister orders swift clearance of pending multi-storey building permissions

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana on Wednesday directed officials to expedite the disposal of pending applications seeking permissions for construction of multi-storeyed buildings in the Capital and instructed them to identify applications that did not have major issues and grant permissions by Thursday.
The Minister reviewed the pending and shortfall noticed applications along with Town Planning Director Ravuri Vidyullatha and interacted directly with the applicants through a video conference. He inquired about the reasons for delays in processing their applications and sought details of the problems being faced in granting permissions.
He asked Mr. Vidyullatha to ensure that such applications were cleared within the stipulated timeframe. The Minister also directed officials to examine the remaining applications and resolve the issues holding them up at the earliest. Permissions should be issued to eligible applicants strictly in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations, he said.
Mr. Narayana stressed that there should be no unnecessary delay in disposing of pending applications. He instructed officials to take prompt measures to address the issues identified during the review and ensure that applicants did not face avoidable difficulties in obtaining building permissions.
