Minister urges women constables to stay updated on emerging crime trends

Social Welfare Minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy urged the newly-trained women constables to stay constantly updated on emerging trends, such as cybercrime, to protect the public.

Speaking as chief guest at the passing-out parade of women constables held at the local Police Training College in Ongole on Thursday, the Minister said that they were entering active duty after undergoing nine months of rigorous training.

He said that women police personnel should discharge their duties comprehensively to dispel the disparaging views held by society towards women. He stated that the stipend provided by the State government during the training period had been increased to ₹12,500 from ₹4,500 previously.

Later, he participated as the chief guest at the ‘Kisan Mela 2026 – Scientists-Farmers Interaction’ programme in Bachala Balaiah Kalyana Mandapam in Ongole. He inspected the exhibition stalls set up by the Agriculture and allied departments and gathered details from the officials.

“Despite facing drought-like conditions caused by natural calamities and the severe impact of El Niño, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s primary objective is to ensure that not a single acre of farmland in the State remains unsown,” the Minister said.

He further emphasised that the Agriculture department bears the responsibility of raising awareness among farmers about modern farming techniques through Rythu Seva Kendra (RSKs), in tune with changing times.
