Mirzapur: The Movie is nearing the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide after two weeks in cinemas, with its global collection standing at Rs 291.89 crore. The film is now around Rs 8 crore short of the milestone, while in India it has crossed Rs 200 crore nett, taking its domestic total to Rs 203.20 crore nett.

The film has held steady at the box office despite a reduction in shows in the second week. After collecting strongly in its first seven days, it continued to draw audiences for Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Pandit and Munna Tripathi on the big screen. According to trade website Sacnilk, its India gross collection has now reached around Rs 242.84 crore.

On day 14, Thursday, September 17, Mirzapur: The Movie collected Rs 3.75 crore nett and Rs 4.50 crore gross in India. The film recorded 17 per cent overall theatre occupancy across 6,926 shows, matching its Wednesday collection.

With this, the film’s two-week India nett total rose to Rs 203.20 crore, taking it past the Rs 200 crore mark just ahead of its third weekend. Its worldwide collection climbed to Rs 291.89 crore, leaving it around Rs 8 crore away from Rs 300 crore.

The film opened strongly and collected Rs 148.45 crore nett in its first seven days. Its opening weekend contributed Rs 93.75 crore, followed by Rs 16 crore on Monday.

In its second week, the film added Rs 54.75 crore nett despite a noticeable fall in its daily show count. The number of shows came down from around 10,800 to nearly 7,000, but collections remained steady.

The second weekend brought another boost. The film earned more than Rs 13 crore on both Saturday and Sunday, while the number of shows also went up over the weekend. It played across 6,763 shows on Friday, 7,183 on Saturday and 7,225 on Sunday.

The increase in shows was accompanied by better occupancy. Overall occupancy climbed from 29 per cent on Friday to 37 per cent on Saturday and 38 per cent on Sunday.

The Hindi 2D version saw particularly strong footfall on Sunday, recording 45.53 per cent overall occupancy. Afternoon and evening shows performed the best, with occupancies of 53 per cent and 57.15 per cent, respectively.About the film

Mirzapur: The Movie takes the popular franchise to the big screen. Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, the film is set between Episodes 6 and 7 of Season 1 of the original series.
