New Delhi: As the monsoon rage continues in various states across the country, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi and Mumbai.
Rain lashed parts of Delhi NCR today morning, bringing down the temperature and relieving the Delhiites from the humidity.
Warning for medium to heavy rainfall has also been issued for the Maharashtra capital, which may lead to potential flight delays, disrupt local train services and also cause traffic snarls.
Fifteen roads were closed for vehicular traffic in Himachal Pradesh following heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours even as the weather office issued a 'yellow' alert of heavy rain at isolated places for the next four days till July 28. According to IMD, the maximum-minimum temperature in Delhi today would range between 34 and 26 degrees Celsius.
"Light to moderate rainfall accompanied with light thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at North Delhi, North-West Delhi, West Delhi, South-West Delhi , NCR ( Gurugram, Manesar) Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Rajaund, Assandh, Safidon, Panipat."
Rainfall activity is likely to increase over Indo-Gangetic plains during next 2 days: IMD said in its forecast.
According to the IMD, various parts of Rajasthan including Kota, Udaipur and Jaipur will receive heavy showers for the next four to five days.
For today, the maximum and minimum temperatures predicted for Mumbai are 27.52 and 26.71 degrees Celsius.
Tomorrow, on July 25, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Mumbai are expected to be 27.35 and 26.01 degrees Celsius.
Talking about the humidity levels in the Maharashtra capital, the weather dept has predicted it to be 85% today and 91% for tomorrow.
