Montreal man sentenced for fraudulent scheme involving dozens of tax returns - Toronto Star

MONTREAL - A Montreal man has received a conditional sentence of two years less a day for a scheme involving forgery and fraud on dozens of tax returns.
The Canada Revenue Agency says FΓ©lix Vil pleaded guilty to one count of fraud over $5,000 and one count of forging documents.
The agency says Vil falsely claimed more than $438,000 in charitable donations on tax returns he prepared for 62 clients.
It says Vil prepared the returns through his company, FEFA Multiservice Inc.
The federal agency says the man also produced fake donation receipts in the name of a Montreal church to support some of the claims.
It says the scheme resulted in an estimated $125,000 in tax evasion.
Vil was sentenced at the Montreal courthouse on Sept. 2.
