In the end, the columns don't care how you got the W. But the devil is in the details. On the one hand, you like to see the Raiders' offense working with some efficiency, especially after playing so poorly last week against the Rams. On the other hand, the defense still has serious issues with no easy answers as to how to fix it.

For much of this game, it looked like the Jets were going to run away with it. They scored on their first six possessions! The only thing that kept the Raiders in the game was the fact that half those scoring drives ended in field goals instead of touchdowns. And, of course, the big 95-yard kick return touchdown by Dylan Laube certainly helped the Raiders keep pace too.

The Jets are not supposed to have a great offense. And there was no reason they should have been able to put up 33 points in this game. The Rams toyed with the Raiders defense last week. And all signs point to that continuing to be the case in their brutal three-game stretch ahead against the 49ers, Seahawks, and Broncos.

Honestly, what a relief. After four straight losses, I'll take a 38-33 win any way it comes. Last week I said I wanted to see more of Mike Washington Jr., and Kubiak gave him 25 carries. The run game wasn't pretty, but running it 33 times kept the Jets honest and took pressure off Kirk Cousins, who threw three touchdowns with no picks.

And how about Dylan Laube? I wrote last week about him leading the league in kick return average, and he finally took one to the house. Brock Bowers stayed Brock Bowers too, with two more touchdowns.

Still, I can't ignore the defense. The Jets scored on their first six possessions, and Braelon Allen ran for 147 yards. That run defense has to get fixed before the trip to San Francisco, or we'll be right back in another shootout.

Nice win for the Raiders to snap their losing streak. Kirk Cousins and Brock Bowers showed out. Also there was a Jalen Nailor sighting which was good. The defense is still is bad, had trouble stopping the run and pass, but came up with stops towards the end the game, that helped Las Vegas get the win.
