Motive Behind Man Kicking Woman in Senayan City Food Court Revealed

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The police have revealed the motive behind a man kicking a woman at the Senayan City food court last Sunday (13/9/2026).

The man identified by the initials RS (44) reportedly reacted because he felt obstructed by the victim.

Unaware of any wrongdoing, the victim was left traumatized.

Metro Jaya Police Public Relations Head, Police Commissioner Budi Hermanto, explained that RS's action was driven by emotion.

“Based on investigators' findings, the suspect felt disturbed and blocked by the victim,” Budi told Kompas.com via text message on Sunday (20/9/2026).

In the circulating CCTV footage, the victim standing in line at a food stall stepped back briefly to allow someone to pass.

Behind her, RS was seated on a tall stool.

He then glanced at the victim before kicking her, causing her to fall hard to the ground.

The incident left the victim shocked and traumatized.

She did not file a police report immediately due to being overwhelmed by shock.

Therefore, the police prepared a model A report that formed the basis for RS's arrest.

“(The report was) made as model A because the victim was still in shock following the incident. However, she has been asked to provide a statement,” Budi added.

According to the victim, she was merely queuing in front of a food stall at the food court.

She claimed she did not know the perpetrator, and vice versa.

“The victim was shocked because she didn’t know the suspect and suddenly was kicked from behind while queuing at the food stall, causing her to fall,” Budi explained.
