Mumbai woman shares scary encounter as wrong-side rider blocks her car, abuses her

A Mumbai-based woman’s encounter with a man riding a scooter on the wrong side of the road has raised concerns about road safety and aggressive behaviour on the city’s streets. She said the rider not only blocked her car at a junction but also verbally abused her before driving away.

Monal Jhaveri shared details of the incident on X, saying the confrontation took place at the junction of Patkar Marg and Gamdevi Road. The man was riding towards her car from the wrong side of the road and stopped in front of her vehicle, blocking her way.

In a follow-up post, Monal shared a video of the confrontation. The footage showed the man hurling abuses at her in Hindi while standing beside her car. He then rode his scooter away, continuing on the wrong side of the road.

The incident left Monal concerned about the behaviour of motorists who disregard traffic rules and respond aggressively when confronted.

Her post also drew the attention of the Mumbai Traffic Police, who acknowledged the complaint and said the matter had been brought to the notice of the relevant traffic division.

Responding to Monal Jhaveri’s post, Mumbai Traffic Police said, “Tardeo Traffic Division has been informed about this.” Several social media users commented on the post and spoke about how dangerous the situation could have been.- Ends
