Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu virtually laid foundation stones for 62 development works across SPSR Nellore district, with an estimated cost of ₹380 crore under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) scheme on Tuesday.
Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, NUDA Chairman Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy, MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, AP Waqf Board Chairman Abdul Aziz, Mayor Sujatha and Municipal Commissioner Y.O. Nandan participated in the programme at DGP Kalyanamandapam.
As part of the initiative, 24 development projects worth ₹240 crore would come up within the Nellore Municipal Corporation limits. These funds will be used to develop infrastructure such as roads, central medians, central lighting, and parks in urban areas.
Remaining funds, including ₹40 crore were sanctioned for eight works in Kavali, ₹30 crore for 12 works in Gudur, ₹29 crore for six works in Atmakur, and ₹22 crore for five works in Buchireddypalem municipalities, along with ₹19 crore for seven works in Allur Nagar panchayat.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Prabhakar Reddy stated that the funds were sanctioned through the efforts of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister Ponguru Narayana, and that it would steer the district towards all-round development.
MLA Sridhar Reddy announced that development works worth ₹872 crore have been undertaken in Nellore Rural constituency so far with the cooperation of the Chief Minister, ministers, the MP, and other public representatives.
