Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has written to Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal seeking his intervention to facilitate the export of more than 150 containers of chilli stranded at the Colombo port in Sri Lanka, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said on Wednesday (November 4, 2026).

The consignments, valued at about ₹60 crore, were intended for markets in China, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore. They were held up on the grounds that their moisture content exceeded the limit, CMO said.

Saying that the delay would cause substantial losses to farmers and exporters, Mr. Naidu has requested the Union Minister to take up the matter with the countries concerned and facilitate the clearance and export of the consignments.

Mr. Naidu has also stepped up efforts to secure Central assistance for farmers who suffered crop losses in Cyclones Arnab and Murasu, writing to Union Ministers and holding discussions with them on the need for immediate relief.

The Chief Minister has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking financial assistance to address the damage caused by the two cyclones and to help restore normalcy in the affected districts. He spoke to Mr. Shah four times and sought the early deployment of Central teams to assess the damage, officials of the Chief Minister’s Office said.

In a preliminary report submitted to the Centre, the State government estimated the damage caused by Cyclone Arnab at ₹4,563 crore. As many as 781 villages were severely affected across 16 districts. Agricultural crops on over three lakh hectares and horticultural crops on over 13,600 hectares were damaged. The cyclone also damaged 29,000 electricity poles and 7,981 km of power lines.

Mr. Naidu has sought the release of ₹4,563 crore as immediate relief to address the damage.

In a separate communication to Mr. Shah, the Chief Minister said Cyclone Murasu had severely affected 465 villages in seven districts. Paddy on over 50,473 hectares and commercial crops on over 1,985 hectares were damaged by the cyclone. The preliminary assessment put the property damage at ₹343 crore.

అర్నబ్, మురసు తుఫాన్ల కారణంగా తీవ్రంగా నష్టపోయిన రాష్ట్రాన్ని ఆదుకోవాలని ముఖ్యమంత్రి శ్రీ నారా చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు కేంద్ర హోంమంత్రి శ్రీ అమిత్ షాను కోరారు. తుఫాను కారణంగా రాష్ట్రంలోని పలు జిల్లాల్లో సంభవించిన పంట, ఆస్తి నష్టంతో పాటు ప్రజలకు కలిగిన ఇబ్బందులు, ప్రభుత్వం చేపట్టిన సహాయక చర్యలను వివరిస్తూ లేఖ రాశారు. రాష్ట్రానికి అవసరమైన ఆర్థిక సాయాన్ని తక్షణమే అందించాలని విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు. మురసు తుఫాను ప్రభావం పై ఫోన్ లో వివరించారు. ఒకే రోజు రెండుసార్లు శ్రీ అమిత్ షాతో ఫోన్‌లో మాట్లాడిన సీఎం, వరుస తుఫాన్ల కారణంగా రాష్ట్రానికి ఎదురైన నష్టాన్ని వివరించారు. మురసు తుఫాను ప్రభావంతో రాష్ట్రంలోని ఎనిమిది శాఖలకు సంబంధించి ప్రాథమికంగా సుమారు రూ.343.95 కోట్ల మేర నష్టం వాటిల్లినట్లు వివరించారు. ఇందులో దాదాపు 94 శాతం నష్టం వ్యవసాయ రంగంలోనే ఉందని తెలిపారు. రాష్ట్రంలోని ఏడు జిల్లాల్లో 465 గ్రామాల పరిధిలో 50,473 హెక్టార్లలో పంటలు దెబ్బ తిన్నాయని, 69,828 మంది రైతులు ప్రభావితమయ్యారని వివరించారు. వీటిలో 45,900 హెక్టార్లలో వరి పంటకు నష్టం వాటిల్లిందని, వ్యవసాయ రంగానికి సంబంధించి ప్రాథమికంగా రూ.324.22 కోట్ల నష్టం అంచనా వేసినట్లు తెలిపారు. బాపట్ల, కృష్ణా, గుంటూరు జిల్లాల్లో పంట నష్టం అధికంగా ఉందని, ఉద్యాన పంటలు కూడా దెబ్బతిన్నాయని వివరించారు. తుఫాను ప్రభావాన్ని ముందుగానే అంచనా వేసి రాష్ట్ర విపత్తు నిర్వహణ సంస్థ, రియల్ టైమ్ గవర్నెన్స్ సొసైటీ, అత్యవసర కార్యకలాపాల కేంద్రాలను అప్రమత్తం చేసినట్లు సీఎం వివరించారు. తుఫాను ప్రభావిత ప్రాంతాల్లో సహాయక, పునరావాస చర్యల కోసం 11 ఎస్‌డీఆర్ఎఫ్, 13 ఎన్డీఆర్ఎఫ్ బృందాలను ముందుగానే సిద్ధం చేశామని తెలిపారు. ప్రభావిత జిల్లాల్లో 480 పాఠశాలలను పునరావాస కేంద్రాలుగా ఏర్పాటు చేశామని, ఇప్పటివరకు 12,230 మందిని సురక్షిత ప్రాంతాలకు తరలించినట్లు వివరించారు. @ncbn @AmitShah #CycloneArnab #CycloneMurasu #AndhraPradesh
