Naqi, Qadir vie for AJK presidency

Strong contenders have emerged in the race for the next president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), with Dr Najib Naqi and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir being tipped as leading candidates for the coveted post. According to sources, the final decision on the PML-N nominee will be made by party president Nawaz Sharif, while the presidential election is expected to be held by September 29. Sources said the final nomination would be decided by party president Nawaz Sharif.
