NBI probes 51 flood control projects in Davao, summons DPWH official - GMA Network

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Monday said it has served a subpoena on the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office in Davao City in connection with its investigation into alleged anomalous flood control projects.

The subpoena directed the regional director to appear before the NBI on Thursday, September 24, to provide information as part of the bureau's investigation.

The regional director was also ordered to submit documents concerning 51 flood control projects.

Last week, NBI Director Melvin Matibag said the bureau had received documents regarding nearly 50 alleged ghost and substandard flood control projects in Davao City.

He said 47 of 100 flood control projects in one district had been “somewhat” flagged, but later clarified that only six of the 47 were “clearly” problematic.

The NBI earlier said it was investigating 47 flood control projects in Davao City.— MCG, GMA News
