Neighbor charged with murder after Georgia DoorDash driver found dismembered
A woman’s dismembered remains were found in garbage bags at an apartment complex in Georgia, police said Friday.
Shanteria Mosley was discovered in the trunk of a car in the Atlanta suburb of Smyrna this week, the Smyrna Police Department said in a news release Friday.
Mosley, who was known to family and friends as “KT,” worked as a DoorDash delivery driver, according to police.
Authorities said one garbage bag “was pulled tightly showing the outline of a body part.”
“This is a shocking crime. I don’t know how else to describe it,” Lt. Meredith Holt, the public information officer for the Smyrna Police Department, said at a press conference on Friday. “I’ve been in law enforcement for 25 years, and I have been a part of multiple homicide cases, and I worked crimes against children for 16 years, and this is a particularly gruesome crime.”
“I cannot imagine what the family is going through,” Holt added.
Family members for Mosley did not immediately return requests for comment.
Police said they discovered Mosley’s body while checking the car at Park Valley Apartments in response to a missing person report earlier in the week.
Authorities waited for officials from the Cobb County medical examiner’s office to arrive at the complex to before opening the bags to confirm they contained body parts, according to a news release.
Kingston Bradley, 18, of Smyrna, Georgia, was arrested and charged with concealing the death of another and malice murder in connection with Mosley’s death.
Police said Bradley lives with his father at Park Valley Apartments, where the body was found.
Holt did not say whether Bradley and Mosley knew each other prior to the incident but said authorities are still investigating how the two were connected.
Authorities said the case is active and that they are “following up on all leads.”
DoorDash did not immediately return a request for comment. Holt said the victim was not working the day she was killed.
