Trace Tavanur, an educational initiative aimed at providing academic and career guidance to students in the Tavanur constituency, was launched on Saturday (September 12, 2026).
The project is being spearheaded by V.S. Joy, MLA. General Education Minister N. Samsudheen inaugurated the project at a function held at Edapal. He also unveiled the project logo.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Samsudheen said that the government was committed to addressing the needs of students. He cited the holiday declared for educational institutions on the day of the FIFA World Cup final as an example of the governmentβs student-friendly approach.

Trace Tavanur initiative will provide guidance on higher education, competitive examinations, professional courses, career choices, and employment opportunities. Students will also receive expert advice to help them identify suitable courses and career options based on their interests and abilities.
The programme will involve students, teachers, parents, education professionals and experts from various fields. It will also focus on identifying challenges faced by students and finding appropriate solutions.
Presiding over the function, Mr. Joy said the initiative would help students understand emerging educational and career opportunities and make informed decisions about their future.

A career guidance session titled βhow to build your careerβ was also held as part of the launch. Sulaiman Melpathur and Nisha K. led sessions on career selection, study options, course selection based on interests and future employment opportunities.
Educationists and civic leaders M. Abdulla Kutty, Suresh Polpakkara, T.P. Haidarali, Rashid Mukkathil, Sindhu Edapal, Mujeeb Poolakkal, Mubshira Kaladi, Jasna Banu Purathur, Ramla T., Shajimol Vattamkulam, E.P. Rajeev, C. Ravindran, and C. Purushothaman were among those who spoke at the function.
