Nick Bolton discusses improvement from fourth-year defensive lineman - Chiefs Wire

Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton spoke with reporters on Wednesday. He praised the defense’s effort in Week 1 and his teammate Felix Anudike-Uzomah's progress.

“I think guys are meshing well together. Still week by week, still building this thing, built the foundation, laying the groundwork,” said Bolton. “Had a good one game, but again, just one game. Still got 17 more opportunities. Still building, still growing. We still got to keep continuing to go together.”

The Chiefs defense held the Broncos offense to just 176 net yards and to two-of-12 (16.7%) on third down, including 0-5 in the second half. The Chiefs added 4 sacks and two takeaways to win the time-of-possession battle. Anudike-Uzomah finished with one of four sacks on quarterback Bo Nix.

“I made a joke about it, taking it back to his (Felix Anudike-Uzomah) K-State days, man. But just a motor- he has a motor, inside, outside, versatility, moving around different spots on the D-Line, and able to execute,” said Bolton. “So I was really proud of him for taking on that challenge to learn different positions throughout training camp and pay dividends for us in this game.”

In Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, Bolton recorded 4 total tackles and 1 pass defended in the 31-10 victory.
