NLCIL signs MoU with C-DAC to explore opportunities in green digital infrastructure

NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) through its green energy subsidiary NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), to explore opportunities in green digital infrastructure and advanced computing technologies.

The Memorandum of Understanding was exchanged during SemiCon India 2026 in New Delhi recently between Ramachandra Parashar, Director, NIRL and S.D. Sudarsan, Executive Director, C-DAC.

According to a press note, the partnership seeks to leverage NIRL’s growing capabilities in renewable energy, particularly across solar, wind and energy storage projects, along with C-DAC’s expertise in advanced computing and digital technologies. The collaboration will explore technology support and consultancy for state-of-the-art renewable energy-powered data centres, aimed at enabling sustainable and energy-efficient digital infrastructure.

The MoU will also facilitate opportunities for joint initiatives in emerging and strategic technology domains, including High-Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing.

By combining clean-energy capabilities with advanced computing research and development, the partnership seeks to develop innovative solutions at the intersection of energy and digital technologies.

The initiative is aligned with India’s vision of building a secure, sustainable and technology-driven digital ecosystem, while advancing the goals of Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, NLCIL said.
