No ticket price hike for Vijay-Rashmika's Ranabaali, makers call reports false
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s Ranabaali will release in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana without any ticket price hike, the makers have clarified, dismissing reports of a possible Rs 50 increase in Andhra Pradesh. Mythri Movie Makers said the film will release at standard ticket prices across both Telugu states. Many producers approach the government in both states for a hike in ticket prices for the premiere shows and for shows throughout the first week.
Mythri Movie Makers, the production house, dismissed the reports in an X post on October 4, stating that the production house had not applied for any ticket price hike in either of the Telugu states.
“There have been reports that we have applied for ticket price hikes in Andhra Pradesh for #Ranabaali. We would like to clarify that these reports are completely false. We have not applied for any ticket price hikes in either of the Telugu States (sic),” the production house said.
The makers further confirmed that Ranabaali would release at standard ticket prices, adding that they were confident audiences would have a good theatrical experience during the festive season.
“Ranabaali will release at standard ticket prices, and we are confident that audiences will have a great cinematic experience this festive season,” Mythri Movie Makers wrote on X. The clarification comes as ticket pricing has become a major talking point around several big-ticket releases, particularly films seeking permission for special shows and increased ticket rates in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In the case of Ranabaali, the makers have now made it clear that audiences will not have to pay an additional amount to watch the film.
Ranabaali is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16, 2026. The film stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles and is directed by Rahul Sankrityan.
The period action drama is being planned as a multilingual release. The film’s promotions are currently underway, with the makers expected to announce more promotional activities, including a pre-release event, ahead of its theatrical release.
Ranabaali is a period action drama set against the backdrop of the Madras Famine of 1876–78 and follows a Rayalaseema man who rises against oppression. Vijay Deverakonda plays the titular character, while Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma, his wife and companion in his fight. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo plays the antagonist Sir Theodore Hector, an English oppressor.- EndsALSO READ | Ranabaali teaser: Vijay Deverakonda leads a story born from a devastating famine
