North Texas and Florida Atlantic football have an important American Conference matchup Oct. 29, and it's come with a lot of twist and turns.

The two high-powered offenses have lived up to their billing, putting up 72 combined points through three quarters. But running back Jahiem White highlighted, with a lowlight, what can happen when a player gets a little overexcited about a hurdle.

On a swing pass outside toward the end of the first half, White attempted what he thought would probably be a low-risk clear attempt along the sidelines. Unfortunately for him, low-risk isn't no-risk, and White was popped out of bounds. But when he landed, the ball was not with him, having rocketed up into the air and eventually into the arms of an FAU defender.

FAU didn't do anything in the limited time it had left, but it was the kind of play you get on a Thursday night in college football. It's also a learning lesson for White, who transferred to UNT after three seasons at West Virginia.

A well-executed fumble, of course, looks awesome. But if there's one thing that's better than that for fans who are tuning into American football instead of the NFL on a Thursday, it's a play that just looks downright silly.
