Oasis puts up never-before-heard song recordings for auction - The News International

A massive archive of previously unheard Oasis recordings, valued between £1.2m and £1.6m, is set to be sold off in an auction next month, in a report first published by the BBC.

Titled The Desk Tapes, the collection includes recordings of 63 live performances, soundchecks, and more than 100 hours of rehearsal tapes captured directly from the sound desk during the band's 1990s peak.

Littleton Auctions, handling the sale in Evesham, Worcestershire on October 3, 2026, described the master tapes as the only archive of its kind in existence.

The collection has been preserved for two decades by Owain Richards, whose father served as the band's front-of-house sound engineer throughout their rise to global stardom.

"Dad labelled everything, recorded everything and backed it all up to cassette, over and over," Richards shared. "I grew up listening to these recordings. Oasis were part of the family as much as they were part of the culture."

Alongside the audio tapes, the auction includes original hand-written setlists, official tour itineraries, an Epiphone guitar played by the band, as well as an authentic Oasis tour parka.

Collectors will also have the opportunity to bid on a rare pair of Adidas Kegler Super Ostrich trainers gifted directly to Noel Gallagher.

Only 100 pairs of the sneakers were manufactured in 2000 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Adidas founder Adi Dassler.

Ben Homer, managing director of Littleton Auctions, highlighted the sale as one of the most exciting collections the house has ever brought to market.

The auction will take place both online and in person at the Worcestershire saleroom, with bidders required to register in advance and pay a deposit ahead of the event.
