On parole for twin daughters' naming ceremony, gangster welcomed with dhols

Notorious gangster Sandeep alias Kala Jathedi briefly left Delhi’s Tihar Jail on custody parole to attend the naming ceremony of his twin daughters on Sunday, September 20, at his ancestral home in Haryana's Sonipat district.

He was granted parole for six hours – from 11 am to 5 pm. The gangster was brought to his native village, Jathedi, under heavy police security.

His arrival was marked by drumbeats as family members welcomed him home.

The village was placed under heightened security, with a heavy presence of police personnel around his residence.

Media access was also restricted in the area during the visit. Jathedi was transported under armed police escort.

The family had organised a religious ceremony, including a havan and traditional naming rituals, for Jathedi’s twin daughters. His wife, Anuradha Choudhary, gave birth to the girls three months ago.'FAMILY VERY HAPPY TO SEE HIM'

Anuradha, who used to be known by her alias "Madam Minz" during her days as a 'lady don' got married to Jathedi in Delhi in March 2024 while he was on a six-hour parole.

"The family was very happy to see him. It was after many years that he was visiting his home on an auspicious occasion. Previously, he had come when his mother died," she told reporters after her husband's latest parole release.

Anuradha added that Jathedi had previously returned home when his mother died.

The gangster’s house was decorated with flowers for the occasion. Following the ceremony, he was taken back to prison in the evening.

In July, a Delhi court had granted Jathedi custody parole for four hours to meet his wife and newborn daughters at a hospital in Gurugram.
