The Coalition of APC Youth Wings in Ondo State has dissociated itself from a purported vote of no confidence against the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Dayo Israel. The coalition also passed a confidence vote on Israel, citing what it described as growth, improved organisation and increased national visibility of the party’s youth wing under his leadership. The position was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Akure by the National Coordinator of the coalition, Success Adeniken, following an emergency meeting of APC youths in the state on Tuesday. The coalition, comprising the APC Mandate Group, APC Youth Vanguard, APC Youth Volunteers and APC Youths Advocates, said the purported vote of no confidence against Israel did not represent the collective position of party youths in Ondo State. “We categorically dissociate the entire APC youth structure in Ondo State from any purported vote of no confidence allegedly passed against the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Dayo Israel,” the statement read.Make PUNCH part of your everyday experience.Add us to your Preferred Sources It added, “Under his leadership, the youth wing of the party has experienced measurable growth, improved organisation, and greater national visibility.” Ondo gov unveils committee for Pa Fasoranti’s state burial UPDATED: Court nullifies Uzodimma’s Senate ticket Akpabio alleges payment for social media attacks on Tinubu The group also described Israel as a source of inspiration and strategic direction to young party members across the country, affirming its support for his continued leadership. However, the coalition declared a no-confidence vote on the state youth leader, Opeyemi Adedeji, and called for his suspension. “It is our firm position that Mr Adedeji acted without the mandate, consultation, or backing of the overwhelming majority of APC youths in the state when he purported to endorse or facilitate a vote of no confidence against the National Youth Leader,” it stated. The group also demanded the appointment of an acting state youth leader. It also urged APC youth structures in other states to defend internal democracy and discipline within the party, insisting that those found to have destabilised the party for personal or financial gain should be held accountable. The coalition reaffirmed its commitment to the unity and electoral success of the APC, saying it would continue to oppose actions it considered detrimental to the party’s stability.
