Just as soon as one key player rejoined the Blue Jays, another went down with an injury. It has been that kind of year for a team that struggled to maintain any sense of momentum all season.

Injuries aren’t the only reason the Jays have failed to meet expectations in 2026, but they were certainly a factor, especially in a rotation that is down to two healthy and properly stretched starting pitchers.

Toronto can be knocked out as early as Tuesday night if the Jays lose, and both the Guardians and White Sox win.
