Outgoing Chinese envoy meets PM Tarique
Outgoing Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen has met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for a farewell meeting.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's Office at the Secretariat on Sunday morning, according to Tarique's Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu.
"This was a farewell meeting," Shiplu told bdnews24.com.
He said Tarique stressed the need to further expand trade, investment and development cooperation, as well as cooperation on issues of mutual interest, including the Rohingya crisis.
Yao said China's support for Bangladesh's development efforts would continue and expressed hope that relations between the two countries would grow stronger.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir and Investment Bangladesh Chairman Ashik Chowdhury attended the meeting.
Chinese Deputy Chief of Mission Liu Yuyin accompanied Yao.
