Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed was injured on the second play from scrimmage on Sunday against the New York Jets.

Reed caught a pass in the flat, appeared to get hit in the head/neck area as he turned up field and then crumpled to the turf. He stayed down and was attended to by trainers on the field for several minutes.

The Packers reported Reed's injury as a neck injury and immediately ruled him out of Sunday's game.

According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Reed was placed onto a backboard and carted off the field with teammates circled around him.

Reed, who played in only seven regular season games due to injuries a season ago, signed a three-year, $50.5 million extension with the Packers this offseason.

Reed caught three passes for 20 yards in the season opener in Minnesota.

Packers Wire will provide updates on Reed's condition as they are available.
