Pakistan’s Banking Future Depends on AI
The Future Banking Forum Karachi 2026, held at a local hotel, has emphasised that artificial intelligence is the future of banking for Pakistan, describing it as the only pathway for meaningful financial inclusion for a country of 250 million people with a median age of 23, while also supporting other Sustainable Development Goals.
The forum brought together chief banking, technology and risk officers to discuss the future of digital transformation in Pakistan’s financial sector.
In a message, Pakistani-Saudi entrepreneur Muhammad Ghazali Aqeeq expressed confidence in Pakistan’s financial sector to make significant strides given its capabilities and competencies in artificial intelligence.
Arif Siddique Khokhar, Federated GRC Advisor at TransVare Corporation, delivered a session on the digital transformation of audit, governance, risk and compliance in banking.
The session also covered how digital platforms are being used to bring audit, risk, controls, compliance, incidents and remediation together in a single, traceable environment.
The session demonstrated how the TransVare Federated GRC Platform connects audit, risk, controls, compliance, incidents and remediation in a single secure and traceable environment.
The presentation also highlighted secure and private AI capabilities, which can help banking teams derive faster insight from audit, governance and risk information while retaining data control, governance and professional accountability.
AuditVare was presented as a solution for internal audit in an AI-enabled era for Pakistan’s financial sector, with capabilities including risk-based audit planning, workflow-driven audit engagements, evidence management, observation tracking, remediation follow-up and executive reporting.
Kashif Alam Khan, President of ISACA Karachi, along with members of the ISACA Karachi Board, and Abdul Qadir, Executive Director of PwC Technology and Cyber Risk, were among the senior industry leaders who expressed confidence in AI-enabled internal audit within the Pakistani banking industry.
