Palamuru was looted under BRS rule, says Komatireddy

Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy accused the previous BRS government of neglecting irrigation and development in Palamuru while former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son K.T. Rama Rao were busy building farmhouses.

Launching and inaugurating development works worth nearly ₹200 crore in Devarakadra constituency, Mr. Venkat Reddy alleged that the BRS government had failed to complete several irrigation projects despite being in power for 10 years.

He said the Congress government had completed the Jurala and Nettampadu projects, while KCR had failed to complete the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project. He also questioned the previous government’s handling of Krishna water diversion towards Rayalaseema through the Pothireddypadu system.

“If projects like the SLBC, initiated during the Congress regime, had been completed in the last 10 years, farmers would not have faced the present hardship,” he said, adding that ₹560 crore had been deposited in the Collector’s account for land acquisition for the Uddandapur project and assured that the Karivena reservoir would be filled with water within seven to eight months.

The Minister launched works for a HAM road from Meenugonipalli at an estimated ₹158.36 crore and laid the foundation stone for a ₹40-crore High-Level Bridge across Ookachetthu Vagu. He also inaugurated a ₹6-crore bridge across the same stream at Madanapuram. Referring to the Kurumoorthy Temple Ghat Road, he said the road would be completed by July next year.
