Panthers reportedly bringing back familiar face as member of coaching staff - Panthers Wire
The Carolina Panthers are reportedly set to fill a void in their coaching staff with a familiar face.
According to The Athletic's Jonathan Jones, the Panthers are hiring DeAngelo Hall to help coach their cornerbacks. Hall, a former cornerback of 14 years, previously served two seasons as an assistant defensive backs coach for Carolina.
Hall was initially hired by the Panthers in 2023. He'd be let go, along with a handful of other defensive coaches, following the 2024 campaign—the first in Carolina for head coach Dave Canales.
His NFL career began as first-round pick (eighth overall) of the Atlanta Falcons from the 2004 draft. Hall, who also spent parts of his long pro career with the then-Oakland Raiders and then-Washington Redskins, went on to become a three-time Pro Bowler.
This reported addition comes in the aftermath of Friday's dismissals of defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and defensive passing game coordinator Jonathan Cooley.
