Parked scooter in Uttarakhand turns into hiding spot for 8-foot snake, rescued

An eight-foot snake was the last thing residents expected to find inside a parked scooter in Uttarakhand’s Haldwani. But that is exactly what turned that ordinary vehicle into the centre of a tense rescue operation in the area.

The situation unfolded when residents noticed the snake inside the vehicle and quickly alerted others in the neighbourhood.

As word spread, a crowd gathered around the scooter. With a large snake concealed inside the vehicle, no one was willing to approach it or attempt to remove it themselves. A video recorded at the scene later surfaced on social media and has since gone viral.

A snake catcher and a Forest Department team were called in to handle the situation. The rescuers carefully worked to locate and remove the snake from the scooter while residents watched from a safe distance.

After nearly 30 minutes of effort, the snake was successfully brought out of the vehicle. It was then taken away and released into the forest.

The incident also serves as a reminder that vehicles can sometimes provide shelter to snakes, particularly during the monsoon. With wet conditions outside, snakes may seek out dry and warm spaces, including parked vehicles.

For the residents, however, the explanation came only after the shock of discovering an eight-foot reptile inside a scooter.
