Patience, not revenge: Chandrababu Naidu takes aim at YS Jagan Mohan Reddy
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said he could have taken “revenge” against former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy within minutes, but chose patience and restraint in the larger interests of the state.
Addressing a public meeting at Panduvaripeta in P Gannavaram constituency of Konaseema district during the Mee Bhoomi–Mee Hakku programme, Naidu recalled his arrest in Nandyal three years ago and accused the previous YSRCP government of political vendetta.advertisement❮❯ Read Full Story‘I CAN ARREST JAGAN WITHIN A MINUTE’Recalling his arrest on September 9 three years ago, Naidu said he was taken into custody around midnight while he was in Nandyal to inspect irrigation projects.
“I can arrest Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy within a minute. But it will not benefit the people in any way. I do not wish to create any disturbance in the State,” Naidu said.
“But I do not believe in that kind of politics. I believe in patience and restraint. My objective is to ensure justice for the Telugu people and develop the state,” he added.
Naidu said he had spent 48 years in politics and had always followed value-based politics, with the welfare of the poor and development of Telugu people as his priorities.
He alleged that several cases were filed against him during the previous regime, but claimed that the allegations could not ultimately be established.
Naidu also recalled the public support he received following his arrest and said people across Telugu-speaking communities had stood by him.
He said technology professionals in Hyderabad and Telugu communities abroad had expressed solidarity with him while he was in jail.
Naidu also praised Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, saying he continued to support him despite being stopped from expressing solidarity.
He alleged that several leaders, including Atchannaidu, were also arrested or harassed during the previous YSRCP government.NAIDU TARGETS YSRCP OVER ‘ANARCHY AND CONSPIRACIES’
Taking aim at the YSRCP, Naidu alleged that the party's politics amounted to “anarchy while in power and conspiracies after losing power”.
He referred to various political controversies involving the Jagan family and made allegations concerning the murder of former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy and the subsequent political developments.

Naidu alleged that Andhra Pradesh suffered greater damage between 2019 and 2024 than it had because of bifurcation.
He accused the previous government of delaying key development projects, including Polavaram, and alleged that political decisions affected the progress of the project.
Naidu also referred to the Veligonda project and said the arrival of water had brought him immense satisfaction.
He accused the previous government of irregularities in the APPSC Group-I examination process and also alleged that poor-quality liquor supplied during the previous regime caused health problems.‘COME TO ASSEMBLY AND DEBATE PUBLIC ISSUES’
Naidu also criticised YSRCP legislators for not regularly attending the Assembly and challenged them to raise their concerns on the floor of the House.
“If they have concerns about public issues, they should come to the Assembly and debate them,” he said.
He alleged that the opposition was attempting to obstruct development projects through litigation and accused the YSRCP of encouraging violent politics and abusive social media campaigns targeting political leaders and their families.
“Whatever conspiracies they may make, we will not be intimidated. We will fight strongly,” Naidu said.
