John Baggio (Photo supplied) Pattaya United have issued a statement affirming their stance against racism following an incident in which fans allegedly directed racist remarks towards Kanchanaburi Power head coach Park Hang-Seo and forward John Baggio.

The incident occurred during Sunday's Thai League 2 match between the two clubs, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Video clips circulating online showed a heated confrontation after the final whistle as Park headed towards the dressing room.

Individuals -- believed to be Pattaya United supporters -- shouted abusive remarks at the Korean coach, including references to "kimchi", while Baggio was also targeted with remarks that were racist and related to his skin colour.

Park approached the individuals in question, prompting stadium staff to intervene to de-escalate the situation.

Pattaya United on Tuesday released a statement expressing their regret over the incident and extending their concern to all those affected.

"Regarding the incident that took place following the league match between Pattaya United and Kanchanaburi Power on November 1, 2026, involving allegations of the use of inappropriate language and behaviour that may constitute racism towards personnel and the players of the opposing team," the statement reads.

"Pattaya United Football Club upholds the principle of respect for human dignity and condemns racism and all forms of discrimination -- including any language or behaviour that demeans the dignity of others -- as these actions run counter to the spirit of football and the principles of mutual respect and coexistence."

The T2 side also added that they are currently coordinating with the competition organisers and stadium officials to gather and examine the facts, based on all relevant evidence, in a comprehensive and fair manner to ensure that the incident is addressed appropriately.

Meanwhile, Madagascar-born Baggio spoke out about the incident in a post on his social media account.

"I am proud to play in the Thai football league because I love Thailand. I play Thai League 1 for 10 years. Every stadium I play in Thailand, in home game or away game, Thai people always respect me and lovely with me and I respect Thai people also. But today one foreigner man say f*** you to me and say monkey to me in front of me in Pattaya stadium," he wrote.

"I just want to play football and fight for my team and respect the football fans. I'm proud of my skin colour and I will never change it."
