PH Embassy in Riyadh advised Pinoys to be vigilant, monitor early warning warnings - GMA Network

The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh has issued an advisory for Filipinos to be vigilant, especially when outdoors, and to monitor government-issued messages amid the attack on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by Yemen's Houthis.

The Embassy said Filipinos should pay attention to early warning messages from the Saudi Civil Defense's National Early Warning platform.

"Additionally, please avoid areas that have active warnings, particularly those near critical and security infrastructure," the Embassy added.

"It is also advised to refrain from taking and sharing photos or videos that may violate security regulations, especially when dealing with unverified information."

The advisory was posted following reports that the Iran-backed Houthis attacked what Reuters reported as "sensitive sites" in Riyadh on Saturday with missiles and drones hours after a large plume of smoke was visible near Riyadh's main airport.

Reuters video and photographs showed a huge pillar of black smoke rising in the area, with the airport highway, main terminal building and other facilities in the foreground. — BAP/KG, GMA News
