PH scores silver in Asian Games sepak takraw women's doubles - GMA Network

The Philippines secured a silver medal in sepak takraw after falling to Vietnam, 8-15, 4-15, in the women's doubles final of the 2026 Asian Games on Tuesday at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Gymnasium in Japan.

The Filipina pair of Jean Marie Sucalit and Abegail Sinogbuhan, with substitute Nelly Jay Salon, never recovered from a big deficit in the second set as they settled for second place.

In the group stage, the Philippines notched wins against Japan and India before falling to South Korea, advancing to the semifinals.

In the semis, the Philippines defeated Laos to advance to the finals.

This marked the country’s third silver medal and 15th overall after gymnast Carlos Yulo’s two gold medals, silvers from Jean Claude Saclag and Gilas Pilipinas Women 3x3, and 10 bronze medals.

It was also the second medal in sepak takraw after the men's regu team claimed a bronze medal.
