Phone tracker system leads cops to robbery suspect
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY , Philippines – A phone tracking system helped police locate and arrest a robbery suspect in this city on Monday.
The 31-year-old suspect was collared in Barangay Bayabas and yielded the stolen items including the phone of the victim and a firearm.
Reports said the suspect took at gunpoint the victim’s bag containing a phone and other belongings in Barangay Kauswagan.
The victim reported the robbery to the Carmen police station, which conducted a follow-up operation.
The team used the phone’s tracking system to locate the suspect, who was spotted walking in Barangay Bayabas.
Police said aside from robbery, charges of illegal possession of firearms would be filed against the suspect.
